Ajmer, a city located in the Ajmer District in the center of Rajasthan and
well surrounded by the districts of Jaipur & Tonk in the eastern side
and Pali in the western side, which is also known as holy city enfolded
in green-carpet hills. The city has been sparkling with its many old monuments
like Taragarh Fort, Ahai - Din Ka- Jhonpra since the city discovered in
7th century AD by Raja Ajay Pal Chauhan.
Ajmer has its important role in the Mughal India map. Historic Ajmer attracts
pilgrims and tourists from India and abroad. The most favorable place among
tourists that can be visited in Ajmer is Muin-ud-Din Chisti's Dargah that
is uniformly reversed by both Hindus & Muslims.The Ajmer lives up with
the traditions of religions and cultures.
The mughal era architectures have added the spice in to this place. Some
sites in this town include the lake of Ana Sagar, Daulat Bagh, museum owned
by government, the Nasiyan Jain Temple and of course the above cited tomb
of Sufi Saint. All those who visited to Ajmer have also visited to Nag Pahar
- the town of Pushkar by the bus journey of half hour.
Places of Interest
Dargah - Khawaja Sharif

Ajmer has the tomb of Sufi saint named as Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti, and the
blessings of this saint sought by the pilgrims who have visited to this
dargah. Dargah Sharif is also well known as the last quiescent location
of the Sufi saint, who died in 1235. The tomb of saint is made up of superb
marble dome in the second courtyard's center, surrounded by silver platform.
Although, there is one more mosque built by the Shahjahan in the courtyard
within the asylum of Dargah. By passing through the bustling bazaar of Dargah
and entering to the mausoleum through a huge gateway that was built by Hyderabad's
Nizam. Once you have done the praying at Dargah Sharif, then you must go
to other monuments situated with in the premises of Dargah. You can visit
the daughter of deceased Sufi saint, Bibi Hafiz Jama tomb.
Adhai-Din-Ka-Jhonpra
It is undeniably the most favorable place among visitors who used to visit
Ajmer, Rajasthan on their vacations. This monument is a must see place,
and it has its own significance because when it was built, it had taken
less than 3 days to be completed moreover this monument was constructed
by using demolished building material from many Hindu temples.
Taragarh Fort
The Fort at Taragarh is situated on the peak of a hill at 39 KM distance
from Kota that can be reached by piercingly slanting road. It was built
by King Chauhan Ajaypal by topping up rampant elephants at all the three
gateway of this fort. Each gateway has given its own name such as Phuta
Darwaza, Lakshmi Pol & Gagudi ki Phatak.
