Bharatpur is one of the most amazing and attractive locations in the Rajasthan,
a preferred destination to spend time close to wildlife. It is situated
in the region of Mewar and was founded by Suraj Mal Maharaja in the 1733
AD. The city was once an invincible glowing fortified city ruled by Maharajas
of Jat as the kingdom's capital.
The Bharatpur is located in the western direction of the Agra city, which
is 50km faraway from this well-famous city of Taj Mahal, also having the
headquarters of District Bharatpur Administration. This amazing destination
has got its name after the name of the brother of Lord Rama - Bharata,
whose younger brother Laxman was devoted as Bharatpur' family idol.
It is often believed that the Bharatpur city and its fort had been founded
by the kin Jat of the Sogariya - Rustam. Later on, the Suraj Mal Maharaja
has conquered Bharatpur from the Rustam's son, Khemkaran to initiated
his kingdom. The huge massive walls have been built by Maharaja to fortified
the city.
The impressive Palace of Bharatpur consists of huge number of displays
from the days of ancient glory. The preliminary Maharajas had carefully
planned and developed Bharatpur as the lands of Birds, and they gained
recognition for that throughout the world. However, after the past time
event of shooting of about 5000 birds in a single day, although it had
gained many discussions for hundreds of year but lost its birds-species
trust. Hopefully, now it has gained its splendor back by transforming
into a remarkable, yet small national park.
Every year, thousand of travelers and visitor spend their time at the
Bharatpur with the rare Siberian cranes who used to come this sanctuary
to spend their winters in the warm and welcoming climate of Bharatpur.
If you wish to spend your vacations with the Siberian cranes then you
can reach Bharatpur by a road journey of 55km from Agra. However, the
town of Bharatpur have nothing much to offer you apart from the rich histories
of ancient forts & palaces. There are several inviting destinations
like Dholpur, Karauli, and Bayana, had helped a lot Bhartapur in offering
a rich experience to the visitors of Bharatpur or the visitors of Keoladeo
Ghana National Park.

Keoladeo Ghana National Park
The Keoladeo Ghana National Park (also known as Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary),
which also gained its recognition as former duck-hunting reserve now have
more than 360 birds species which includes the rare cranes of Siberia and
also have most enchanting Afganistan, Turkmenistan, and China aquatic birds.
This sanctuary lies at the distance of 190km from delhi and between the
two most historic municipalities of India - Jaipur & Agra.
Government Museum
The Government museum of Bharatpur is the perfect blend of Rajputana and
Mughalai architecture, is due the fact that it was completed in several
different phases during the periods of different maharajas. The Bharatpur
museum lies in heart of Lohagarh fort offering a rich vantage of ancient
Bharatpur states' archaelogical wealth. The Kamra Khas, which is also located
situated inside the premises of the fort, provide you the glimpse of variety
of antique collection, delicate and exquisite sculptures & inscription
from ancient past.
